Oasis Village

Building a path towards home…

Oasis Village cabins provide our unhoused neighbors in Redmond with security and stability along with access to health and social services as they build their individual path towards stable housing.

A path towards home

In January 2024, Oasis Village welcomed its first participants and as the snow fell just a few days later, sixteen formerly unsheltered people were able to spend the night in privacy and warmth in our cabins. However, the opening of Oasis Village was neither the beginning nor the end of ita story. It began nearly a decade earlier as volunteers from the east Redmond homeless outreach team recognized the need to odder more than survival supplies. They began to dream of building a path out of homelessness for our chronically unhoused neighbors and after research, consultations, and site visits with shelter providers throughout the Northwest, that dream became Oasis Village: a low-barrier, cabin-style village with a community center, onsite supportive services and case management.

Creating New Beginnings

Today Oasis Village is creating new beginnings for those who shelter there. As we better understand the unique needs and challenges of serving people experiencing chronic homelessness – especially those transitioning from “the junipers” into our village setting – our staff is constantly questioning, learning, and implementing best practices based upon experience and feedback from participants. Through this process, Oasis Village has been privileged to walk beside several participants as they transitioned from homelessness to stable housing.
